- John Deere mulching systems use durable blades designed to chop grass into very small particles. The mulch that is distributed across the lawn will turn to feed, eliminating the need for bagging. This improves efficiency by reducing cleanup time.
- The mulching attachment allows converting the 48-in. (122-cm), 54-in. (137-cm), 60-in. (152-cm), and 72-in. (183-cm) mowers so they can be used to perform the mulching function (grass or leaves) of this system.
- The kits are designed to improve mulching for both the 7-Iron™ and 7-Iron II™ mower decks.
- Always mow with sharp blades. No more than one-third of the grass blade should be cut off at one time.
- One-third rule allows more efficient mulching and will promote the continued good health of the grass. If the desired cut height can't be achieved by cutting off one-third, or there is clumping of the clippings, it may be required to cut higher; wait a day, then lower the mower and make a second pass.
